Do I sense a double standard here?

If a person asks a question on here saying that he cheated on his spouse, then the people here give polite yet useful advice to the person on how to deal with the situation properly.

But if he were to ask a question about a one-night-stand, then almost everyone jumps down his throat and flame him for even mentioning the word one-night-stands, much less than what they actually hate about it.

What is wrong with people here? You know that cheating is actually the ';wrong'; deed here, don't you - because if you cheat with someone, then you are hurting your significant other who probably loves and cares about you. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with a one-nighter as long as the people involved are mature adults who are well educated about sex, and are aware of the consequences %26amp; of course nobody is cheating.

So why this double standard here? In fact, I would teach people not to cheat first, rather than brainwash them into thinking that one-night-stands are immoral.Do I sense a double standard here?
people have one night stands, and i've never really commented on that before around here.

people also cheat.

BOTH are considered adultry - in fact, sex before marriage is considered adultry in most religions.Do I sense a double standard here?
I think that people assume that if it was a one time thing that it can be fixed and won't happen again. But if they are doing it with one person on a regular basis then they can see that as a whole other relationship and that hurts more than a one night stand.

Not saying that it is the lesser evil and it is still wrong, but it could be easier to forgive someone for a brief fling than an ongoing affair or affairs.
Cheating is cheating it doesn't matter if it's a one night stand or if its been going on for a year and a one night stand can get you just as divorced as a year one can. Cheating is one thing I just can't stand and the ones who cheat all have the same lame excuse. Downside for them is that same lame excuse doesn't hold up in court.....
One night stand and cheating are the same unethical. There is no double standard on this to me . Cheating is sexualy and emotionally involve. One night stand , maybe induced by alcohol drinks or drugs,the mind is hazy.If you are talking about swinging,that is scary,a person might contact a sexual transmitted diseaseA.well educated person who engage to these activities are look down and called pervert.As a human beings we can not live like animals ......
People will give polite advice about cheating cause most people do infact cheat quite often, it only makes genetic sense because humans are designed to pass on their genetic codes combiening them with as many different codes as possible in order to ensure the highest survival rate. One night stands are offensive to us because its instinicntual they offer nothing in continuing the spieces and can actually lower the survial rate of genetic hertiages so there for we find them ';immoral.';
