How do I get over my trust issues?

I have been with my wife for over 6 years and I still feel I can't trust her. It's my own insecurities and looking at other relationships where I feel most people cheat or keep things from their spouses. I know I should look at my relationship and see that she is not like that. She has never cheated on me or given me any reason to doubt her. And it's honestly not about cheating I know she wouldn't do that and I know that if she did, it would happen no matter how stressed out I get about it. I just fee lso guarded. She is the sweetest person ever and I have pushed her away. I feel like she will hurt me so bad one day and I have no reason to think this other than believing that she will eventually crush me. I even hurt her feeligns when she doesn't agree with me on simple matters and I make a big deal out of it. I know that my self destructiveness and distrust will ruin our relationship and I am exhausted because she really doean't take any crap from me or back down so we will argue for days and both end up feeling phyically sick. stupid I know. But I feel that I always have to be right and that she is taking advantage of me if I fold. Pls help.How do I get over my trust issues?

Perhaps you could seriously consider therapy. Since you seem to be creating your own hell here. You say she will crush you and leave you heartbroken and yet you do things like make a big deal out of nothing and you have pushed her away and rejected her. It seems the thing your most afraid of is the thing your setting up to happen so you can rove yourself right. So now how important is it to be RIGHT here in these cases. Please make an appointment with a real therapist or join a therapy group (even better) and talk this stuff out. This is more serious then you think.
Your exhausted, imagine how much she feels exhausted. I'd say, get a hobby - cooking, go to the gym, take care of the house..cars, lawn, though some laundry in...and surprise her with folding it and putting it away. Get a puppy, bird...fish tank..something you both would enjoy. Six years..congratulations. Focus..you are the Husband and Father?
I think the fact that you are intelligent enough to realize that the issues of trust are within your own insecurities is a huge step in the right direction.





Usually, your types of fears of distrust started some where long before you even met your wife - your observation of adults being trust-worthy might have been during your childhood where disappointment can have a lasting effect. Then it is reinforced by having friends or see other engage in distrustful behavior.





I think you should keep the lines of communication open - and let your wife know that it is your issues and not her fault - and that you want to talk about your feelings with her because you trust her the most in the entire world - she has somehow manage to have faith in her - and you want her help in letting go of your own insecurities -





Your wife and you can come up with a plan - for example, when do you feel insecure and have doubts - it is during those times you should be able to contact her and discuss her - and not accuse her of how you feel. I think a person like you has much to offer a relationship since you are willing to work on your own issues and stay married - good luck.
I can feel you man..in this our world most things are done for convenience like relationship,marriage,Jobs etc...i will not say your ';insecure'; cuz that's a word women use quite often to get away from the stupid things they do and most guys buy that. i will only tell to you relax yourself and look into the situation as an outsider. If you guys really argue a lot then i think there is something wrong somewhere and that is what you should try to find out, and never ever feel like ';its you';; women are good in making guys feel like they are their won problem. and for your information, never argue with a woman.
